"Help Me Choose My Plan" is an AI wizard that recommends a CFD or Futures plan to FundedNext visitors. It's embedded as a pop-up on the FundedNext site and is live in production.
Context
The wizard existed as an MVP that was about 10% done. It needed to become a production feature on the main FundedNext site.
My role
Working as a product engineer, I built the remaining ~90% and took it live in production.
Engineering story
The wizard runs as a separate Next.js app alongside the main site, with both apps behind one Nginx domain.
basePath and asset 404s. A basePath bug caused the wizard's assets to return 404 under the shared domain. I found and fixed it.
A corrupt build that stopped hydration. React wasn't hydrating the page. I traced it to a corrupt build and fixed it.
HTML cached for a year. HTML was being cached for a year. I switched it to no-store.
Wizard state reset. Wizard state wasn't resetting. I fixed it by remounting the component with a new key.
Results
- ~90%built, from a ~10% MVP
- Livein production on the FundedNext site
The wizard is live in production, and approximately $1M/month in plan purchases flow through its recommendations.
